REV. TH EO KRIENKE In the death of our former Schqol Board President, friend, citizen, educator, and minister of Round Rock, we have suffered an irreparable loss. The educational affairs of the community have had removed from their midst aman whose keen insight into the Funda- mentals of education has been a vast benefit, all movements for civic betterment in this city have had taken from them a wise counselor, his family has been called upon to give up their leader, and the youth of Round Rock have suffered the loss of a counselor whose sacrifice and interest in their behalf has been the inspiration for good citizenship for many years. While we bow to the immutable laws of God, we at the same time pause in awe at the irreparable loss we have suffered in this instance, and, thus bereft, we can but rest in the consolation that his worth as a man, a son, a husband, a father, a friend, an educator, and a churchman will be exemplified in the lives he has touched in his great patriotic and unselfish work of devotion to the civic, the educational, and the religious life of this community. Although mere words cannot memorialize the efforts and effects of this man as Presi- dent of the Round Rock School Board for twenty years--and as a leader in civic and re- ligious affairs even longer--the Dragon here takes the opportunity to pay tribute res- pectfully to a man who saw many of his dreams for Round Rock become realities, the Rev Theo Krienke, to whom we, the Staff of 1956-57, dedicate our Yearbook.
