SENIOR LASS HISTORY In September, 1946, Joan Rix, Shirley Halbakken, Donna Thymian, June Eiken, Sharon Martinson, Jane Lerbakken, Eleanor Dow, Joyce Haar- stad, Janice Helgeson, Darlene Lingstad, Paul Ostrem, Evan Ronningen, Duane Luehring, Virginia Flatin, and Robert Hexum started their school days at Rothsay Public School. At the end of the year Joan Rix left. In the second grade Mary Kragerud and Roland Swensrud joined us but at the end of the school year Roland Swensrud left again. In our third grade we were happy to welcome La Verne Zimmerman and Lynn Freude. In our fourth grade Rebecca and Ruth Ann Erickson, Mary Anne Hanson, and Floyd Paler became one of us. Dennis Rasmussen also joined us the last semester of the fourth grade. With the addition of Paul Anderson and Clarence Bilden in the fifth grade we now numbered 25. La Verne Zimmerman, Dennis Rasmussen, Ruth Ann Erickson, and Rebecca Erickson left us. In our sixth grade Dennis Rasmussen was reunited with us. In our seventh grade Dale Danielson entered the Rothsay School but Eleanor Dow, Robert Hexum, and Mary Krag- erud found fit to leave us after the seventh grade. Lynn Balken became a member of our eighth grade. Our freshmen class included the following 27 students, Shirley Hal- bakken, Donna Thymian, June Eiken, Sharon Martinson, Jane Lerbakken, Eleanor Dow, Joyce Haarstad, Janice Helgeson, Duane Luehring, Virginia Flatin, Lynn Freude, Ruth Ann Erickson, Rebecca Erickson, Mary Anne Han- son, Floyd Paler, Dennis Rasmussen, Paul Anderson, Clarence Bilden, Dale Danielson, Lynn Balkan, Robert Hexum, Richard Fosse, Raymond Jorgensen, Avis Grunewald, Verlyn Haiby, Larry Hansen, and Evan Ronningen. After our freshmen year Joyce Haarstad, Eleanor Dow, Dennis Rasmus- sen, Raymond Jorgenson, Clarence Bilden, and Verlyn Haiby left us. Fol- lowing our Sophomore year Floyd Paler, Larry Hansen, and Duane Luehring left us. During our Junior year Janice Helgsson left us. Our Senior year enrollment has remained the same, seventeen of the beginning twen- ty-seven. Our first grade teacher was Mrs. Nelson, second grade, Miss Geiger, third grade, Miss Sloan, fourth grade, Miss Erickson, fifth grade, Miss Jahnkeg sixth grade, Mrs. Fretlandg and our seventh and eighth grade, M . Thompson. Our high school teachers wereg Mr. Polack, Mrs. Rosholt, Mr. Vail, Mrs. Votopka, Mr. Enger, Mrs. Varriano, Mr. Iverson, Mr. Hubert, Mr. Peterson, Mr. Gunnarson, Mr. Holvik, Mrs. Larsen, Mr. Varriano, and Mr. Stoffel.
