Then comes the memorable seventh and eighth grades the years we had Mrs Hazel Gebo as our instructor When we were seventh graders the following s u dents Joined us Beverly Rlx DeLa1ne Carlsrud Alice Hansen and Harry Olson Elaine Martinson was a new classmate during our eighth year When our first eight grades were over we entered the Rothsay High School for a few more years at hard study The members of the Freshman class of 47 were Geraldine Bxlden Eldon Brenden Loanne Brager Jane Brenden Doris Dahnke Gordon Flatin Alice Hansen Marjorie Hovland LaVonne Jensen, Orlyn Kragerud, Donald Lein Charles Martmson Millard Mortensen Richard Nitz LeRoy Nord Ethel Olson Harry Olson Donald Rasmusson Arlene Ronmngen Marlowe Velo Marcella Weak Darlene Pederson Rebecca Lackman and Elaine class advisor that year was Miss Margaret Uthus As Freshmen we all remem ber our initiation day when we were all dressed in men s long underwear and pajamas and had to go parading around town In our Sophomore year ldella Toso and Allen Morris became members of our class Joanne Hendrickson Joined us during the last semester Joanne left us and went back to the Breckenridge High School during our Junior year LaVonne Jensen was no longer with us as she went to Illinois to attend school and Marlowe Velo dropped out later joining the Air Force now stationed ln Massachusetts When we became Semors we found we had lost two more of our classmates They were Loanne Brager who is attending school in Fergus Falls and Darlene Pederson who was bit by the love bug and is now Mrs Clifford Ouse We also took on a new member Perry Larson who hails from Hillsboro North Dakota Out of fourteen first graders there are only four who have completed all twelve years in Rothsay Public School They are Marcella Weak Orlyn Kragerud Marjorie Hovland and Ethel Olson . . 1 . t - D Martinson.
