Seventeen is ,ftwfnlly llenng On March 23 and April 3, the Class of '58 presented their Sophomore play under the direction of Mr. Schreiber. The play was an amusing comedy about the situation that. arises when a mouse is changed into a girl glamorous enough to compete with her spoiled, lovely sister. 611155 History Fifty-five freshmen reported to two different home rooms to begin the 1954-55 school term. Mr. Baur and Mr. Richwine were the homeroom teachers in the library and room 111 respectively. The following officers were elected: President, Don Yoder, Vice-President, Kay Shottsberger, and Secretary-Treasurer, Kay Stewart. The Student Council member was Kemper Laudenslager. Their social events consisted of a dance featuring the Ken Quinn Trio and a roller skating party. The Class of '58 returned as sophomores with 47 students. Again the library and room 111 were the homerooms with Mrs. Wisegarver and Mr. Richwine as advisors. The officers for the new year were: President, Gerald Grassmyer, Vice-President, Charlotte Lantz, and Secretary- Treasurer, Kay Stewart. Student Council members were Shirley Morrison, Kemper Laudenslager, and Don Yoder. A three-act comedy Seventeen is Awfully Young was produced by the class of '58 under the direction of Mr. Schreiber. Again the social events were a dance and a roller skating party. The Junior Class consisted of 42 students for the 1956-57 school term. Room 108 and 111 were the homerooms with Mrs. Stambaugh and Mr. Richwine as homeroom teachers. Officers were elected as follows: President, Gerald Grassmyer, Vice-President, Charles Martin, Secretary, Judy Reynolds, and Treasurer, Kay Stewart. Shirley Morrison, Kemper Laudenslager, and Charles Martin were elected to the Student Council. As Juniors the class ordered their rings, pennents, hats, emblems, etc. Meet Me At The Prom a three-act comedy, was theJunior Play directed by Mr. Kidd. As Juniors we took the high school to Gay Paree, at the Evening in Paris Prom. The 1957-58 school term saw the return of 41 seniors. Againthe home- rooms were 108 and 111 with Mrs. Olney and Mr. Richwine as advisors. Officers for the Senior Class were: President, Gerald Grassmyer, Vice- President, Don Yoder, Secretary, June Gillam, and Treasurer, Kay Stewart. Student Council members were Betty Hartley, Richard Miller and Charles Martin. The Class of '58 produced a three-act play entitled The House of Strangeness directed by Mr. Andrews. On April 24, 25, and 26 the seniors made their annual trip to New York. Their final social event was Class Night, May 23, Baccalaureate Services were held May 25 -- and the Class of 1958 said farewell to Rothrock High School in the form of their Commencement Exercises on May 29. 43

Meet Mc ,At U15 Pram Meet Me At the Prom , our Junior play, was presented on November 9, 1956. Directed by Mr. Kidd, it was a very successful three-act comedy. The story unfolds against the background of the two big events of the fall season at Central High: the Senior Prom, with its Queen, and the big game with Western High. The results of the election for Prom Queen provided the surprise ending for Meet Me At the Prom. The cast was: Mom Madigan, K. Laudenslager, Lucy Trainor, M. Yoder, Sheila Rollins, D. Bossinger, Winnie Clark, L. Henry, Gert Andefson, A. Hockenberry, Ada Short, M. Mundy, Elwood Simpson, L. Mowery, Monk Stacy, S. Snook, Bing Wilson, R. Yoder, Pudge Burnett, C. Martin, Julia Cartwright, K. Shottsberger, Elsie Hacker, T. Yoder, Cal Henry, G. Grassmyer, Mrs. Trainor, K. Stewart, Don Leonard, D. Yoder, Miss Fanshaw, J. Reynolds. Ch: House Of Straugeuess Our Senior play was presented on October i8, l957. The House of Strangenessn a mystery in three-acts, was directed by Mr. Andrews. The play centered around the nation-wide manhunt for Gentleman John, a notorious thief, and his moll. The action took place in an eerie old farmhouse. Mysterious, yet with a touch of comedy, our Senior play was very successful. The cast was: Sandra Pembleton, J. Reynolds, Francine Ashmore, K. Laudenslager, Winetta Bullitt, C. Hoover, June Winterbottom, M. Yoder, Wayne Merrin, D. Yoder, Nigel Wise- heart, G. Grassmyer, Tobias Bullitt, S. Snook, Randolph Winterbottom, C. Martin, Abby Pierce, E. Dunmire, Shug, R.
