Hutchinson, Mr. Andrews and Mrs. French, advisors. Student Hauncil Mrs. French and Mr. Andrews helped the Student Council carry out its duties. The Student Council had charge of all the assembly programs this year. It also had charge of the Red Cross and the March of Dimes drives. The Student Council bought records for the record player, which it purchased last year. The Student Council presented the following awards to seniors: Sports awards for basketball, baseball, and softball, Citizenship award, Music award, and Publication award. The officers of the council were: President, Audrey Harshbarger, Vice-President,David Runk, Secretary-Treasurer, Shirley Morrison. Cn- Hz- if This year the Tri-Hi-Y Club under the supervision of Mrs. French had an enrollment of fourteen members. The club's proiects were a Mother and Daughter Party, a Christmas Party, and an Easter Assembly program. Most ofthe girls were also on a service committee which gave help to the teachers. Girls ' Hlmrus The high school chorus is under the direction of Mr. Stump. The chorus spent a great deal of time practicing for the choral concert held in the Macklin Auditorium in the spring. Several at the members from the chorus participated in County Chorus which was held at Kishacoquillas High School. Two members were selected tor District Chorus held at Captain Jack High School. They were Kay Stewart and Elma Dunmire. A nonette of senior girls was also a part of the choral group. They sang at concerts, in local churches, and for school activities. Mr. Curry helped and advised on each proiect until the student could develop it by himself. The aim of the club was to encourage young people in the scientific field. iuniar Historian 611111 The members of the Jr. Historian Club for the year 57-58 focused attention mainly to con- ducting research into the historic past of the community, county, state, and nation.
