6? We proudly present to you our 1954 ROSTRAVETTE in which we have endeavored to record your past life at Bostraver. For you, the underclassmen, we have recorded within these pages the beginning of your sojourn at our school. Your years here have just begun--years in which the tree of knowledge will spread branches of loyalty, devotion, and spiritual and moral growth be- fore you. You need only to reach forward and pluck of its fruit. We hope that you will find enough happy recollections within the pages of this book to look ahead with eager anticipation to the school years before you. . For you, the graduating class, we have attempted to portray your last year at Ros- traver-the gay, the serious, the unforgettable. You are but a small part of the endless chain of students who have already graduated: nevertheless, you too have helped estab- lish the spirit and tradition that lingers and permeates each corner of our building. Now, equipped with the fruits of education acquired at our school, you leave these walls facing a future uncertain, but filled with opportunity. Wherever the path leads, may you achieve success, and may you see a brighter tomorrow-a tomorrow better than yesterday or today. All of you, whether a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior, have memories of your school life-mak- ing new friends, giving endless book reports, anxiously awaiting prom night, cramming for those difficult tests, cheering the team, and many other events that made the time pass altogether too fast. ln the future, as you thumb through the pages of the BOSTBAVETTE, may it serve as a constant reminder of your class- mates and a cherished memento of the wonderful times you knew here.

With pride and affection, Miss Spiegel, we the Class of '54 dedicate this, our yearbook, to you. The above poem says in words what we cannot express when we want to show our appreciation for the time you have spent listening to our book reports, and the guidance you have given us in our schoolwork and personal lives. No other influence has contributed more towards making our life at Hostraver of lasting value. The bridge built by the eminent engineer, the magnificent skyscraper de- signed by the architect, and the fashions created by the designer exist but for a little while. Only the mind of man developed by a teacher is immortal. Because to us you represent the best in the teaching profession, we offer this dedication to you, Miss Spiegel, our counselor and friend.
