The highest honor that can come to a Rossville High School student is to be chosen to membership in the Student Council. With faculty approval, it makes rules for the student body and publishes a student hand- book, which contains rules and regulations, sports schedules, and lists the school organizations. The Council sponsors various activities throughout the year, such as the Freshmen Mixer and the Christmas Party. In the spring of 1960, Gene Davis was elect- ed Student Council President for the year 1960- 61. Above, he confers with Mr. Richardson, ad- visor for the Student Council. LEFT: Girls' State which is held at the Univer- sity of Kansas and Boys' State which is held at the University of Wichita are a week's training for citizenship and good government. jane Zicke- foose and Curtis Berkey, delegates, had a chance to participate in the functions of this model government.
