Looking over last year ' s yearbook, students wondered whether this year ' s would arrive on time. Sharon Dean silently thinks of past memories. What a mess! A candid picture of the women teacher ' s lounge surprised Mrs. Mildred Mullis, a substitute teacher. School drew to a close and students realized that the year was almost over. New thoughts of summer entered students ' heads; summer baseball, graduation, jobs and swimming. Teachers felt joy and relief that they had made it through another year, but many looked forward to plans being made for the quarter system for next school year. Important decisions had to be made concerning which college a student should attend. Mr. Kenneth Wood, guidance counselor, and Boyd Hargraves discuss Boyd ' s college plans. Colleges and universities began receiving applications from all high schools. RHS students mailed applications early in hopes of being accepted. Happy students received news of acceptance through letters; other students received letters of acceptance after a long wait. Business schools took the place of colleges for many senior students. These students took mainly business courses throughout school hoping to use them after graduation. Mailing the college application on time seemed important to Gary Ashley. He mailed the application at the school ' s mail box. College 43
