Dances Christmas party remains all-school social event Preparations for the school-wide Christmas Dance began with officer meetings held in Miss Holder ' s room. Officers representing each class were appointed specific duties. Tickets were sold for $1.50 per person. The band, Apple Jam, pleased students with three hours of dance music. Refreshments were served throughout the party. The treats were prepared by the new Food Service Class. Lack of money made it necessary to charge ten cents a person to check in shoes, coats, or handbags. Students were required to take off their shoes before entering the gym floor. % ' A Hk. Fashions 73 Keeping up with new fashions proves challenging The Shag epidemic spread throughout R.H.S. Debbie Baker models one of the many styles. Teenboard members from area stores were well represented at R.H.S. Fashions worn by members displayed items that could be purchased at their respective stores. Smock-tops, the no-bra look, and baggies rated high in students ' clothing. Girls found the smock- top comforta ble dress-wear for school. Cuffed baggies grew in popularity with both male and female students. Shags were the most common hair style worn. These hair-cuts ranged from long shags to short ones. Long hair still remained in at R.H.S. Arm-wear made students take interest in prisoners of war with the P.O.W. Bracelet. Cool and comfortable is a good description for this raging style, the Smock-Top, worn by Phyllis Guest.
