Homecoming Players select Homecoming sponsors and escorts Undoubtedly the most attractive parts of being a senior football player were get¬ ting a letter to put on one ' s jacket and asking a girl to become one ' s sponsor. This sponsor represented the senior player at the halftime program of Homecoming game. As the sponsor came across the football field on Homecoming night, the players received second half plans. But, a feeling of pride prevailed in the locker room. The girls received mum corsages with the player ' s number in the center. Escorts wore white boutonnieres to add to their suits. Sponsors and escorts preceding halftime were Mike Cole, Beverly Gore; Joe Don Stephens, Debbie Womack; Dennis Brock, Marcia Hanes; Kathy Butler, Bobby Shellnut; Lynita Purcell, Steve Moreland; Darlene Brown, Steve Hammer. Freshman class officers hold early morning meetings. Terri North, Pam Robins, Kenny Kyle, Sheree Hartman, and Teresa Morgan plan new activities for the Freshman class. Friendly faces and pretty smiles won votes for Jennifer Morrow, Homecoming Queen candidate. Lynita Purcell pins a favor on Bobby Shelnutt.
