LIBRARIANS By now, the students have found the new location of the library on the stage of the assembly very convenient. They are also quite proud of the three new study tables and chairs. Emphasis is now being placed on the purchase of reference books to help the students in research work. Betty Crum assisted by Donna Waldron, Evelyn Scolley, and Sylvia Gushwa kept the students aware ot the many books the library has to offer through their many clever bulletin boards. Donna Waldron, Carolyn Miller, Marina Frank, Mary Jane Unger and Judy Bie- secker rotated as desk librarians during the noon hour while Mary Alice Ticen, Sue Kingery, Annettie Good, Amy Cable, Julia Bogan, and Maralee Brennaman served daily one period each. Bottom row, L to R: Donna Waldron, Judy Biesecker, Mariorie Gochenour, Carolyn Miller, and Annettie Good. Second row: Julia Bogan, Mary Jane Unger, Marina Frank, Evelyn Scolley, Sue Kingery, Betty Crum, Mary Ticen, Mrs. Rodkey, and Amy Cable. Not in picture: Sylvia Gushwa and Maralee Brenneman.

LARS STAFF Another LARS, the eighth volume has ioined the procession of Rossville annuals. iFor us who are responsible for its publication, it represents the best because for us it depicts our years at R.H.S. Neither the cover nor the organization of material makes an annual: the very fact that it is our book, about our school, by our students, for our students, makes it valuable. We feel that there are two unique features about the LARS: first, it includes an alumni directory and second, it is financed 'by sale of books and by gifts of alumni, local business men, and friends of the school. We, as members of the T953 staff, are glad to have contributed our part to this complete Ross- ville publication and pledge our support to it in the years to come when we are alumni. THE HIGH SPOT The High Spot, the school newspaper, contained everything from editorials to the gossip in the every other week publication. The iunior English class, under the direction of Mrs. Rodkey, collected the material: and the advanced typing class cut the stencils, mimeographed, and distributed it. The following members served on the staff: Kay Barnhart, editor, Dale Long, co-editor: Jean Ann Si-lverthorn, business manager: Marina Frank and Marilyn Rodenbarger, exchange editors: Eugene Bailey, art editor, John McCoy, Maralee Brenneman, Amy Cable, Sylvia Gushwa, Marilyn Widmer, Betty Crum, Mary Ellen Harshbarger, Marjorie Brovont, Mary Jane Unger, Eleanor Hopper, Marjorie Gochenour, and Sue Kingery-reporters, Joyce Ellen Avery, Winifred Purcell, Shirley Hufford, Bill Braden, Dorothy Newhouser, Chester Flora, Margaret Curnutt, Esther McGill, Ronald Gaylor, and Darlene Devore-typists, and Joyce Kingery and Marilyn Black, mimeograph operators,

STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council did a good iob this year in representing the student body of R.H.S. They, with the help of Mrs. Marshall, planned our many convocations. They also made out the school activity calendar, supervised the election of yell lead- ers, and ironed out many other student problems. Much credit goes to Harold Austin, president, Winitred Purcell, secretary, and Mr. Tharp, sponsor. Other members of the council were, Francis Ward, senior, John McCoy and Sue Kingery, juniors, Patricia Huttord and John Lewis, sophomores, Betty Sipes and Maurice Oglesby, freshmen. E1
