This year of 1959 turns our attention to anim- portant event, the Sequicenten Sequicentennial ob- servance of the birth and accomplishments of Abraham Lincoln. If a reason for celebrating the life of Abraham Lincoln needsrecordingit iS this: He was truly a great man. He influenced the course of history. ln his character wrote the historian George Bancroft, L1n- coln was through and through an American. Let the life and accomplishments of this great American be an example for all of us to follow. Edgar E. Andrews In America, education starts with the individual boy or girl. We aim to educate to their fullest capacity, every boy and girl, with the interests ofthe individual always foremost. This, we believe, develops a citizen who is not only better from a personal standpoint, but one who in the end will be a better c itiz en for his country . Crash programs, which concentrate on special materialistic objectives, may appear to be best for the moment but in the long run abroader education that produces complete men and women, capable of living full and happy lives, will be found the most effective G.H.
