MR. R. FRANK, athletic director and coach of the Junior Hi Team, taught his team fundamentals of football, and we hope that this training will grow and produce Grid- iron Heroes for the years to come. It is our sincere wish that these lads will get to ploy in the new stadium. Resuming his career as coach at Rossfard after serving 3W years as a lieutenant on a P. T. boat, COACH R. LEWIS faced a task of building up a team to meet a very heavy schedule. He produced a team that had a fairly good record and also proved that heiretained his coaching ability. We sincerely wish him many successful seasons FOOTBALL RESUME .R 32 :mf ff gt., imyfv. r A XT T.f'?2gff - s lit -VV. ff lf i il. is if, fr ff 4 'I This ig MR. P. sHArER's first year as assistant coach at Rossfard. He has had four years previous experience in coach- ing, three of which were at Port Clinton. He put his time and energy in as line coach, and did a very exceptional iob. Mr. Lewis and his inexperienced Bulldogs opened their '46-'47 football season by traveling to Lake- side to chalk up their first victory of the season 7-6. After a week of practice trying to correct their faults, the Bulldogs clashed with the Maumee Panthers, and were given their first setback of the season 26-6. The next week the Bulldogs went up against their traditional rivals, the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets, and fought to a 6-6 tie. After the Perrysburg game 'four of the regulars were put on the iniured list. The Bull- dogs then met the Whitmer Panthers and were handed their second defeat 30-O. This game proved to Coach Lewis that he had some very reliable reserves. Next came the Holland game which was almost a sure victory and ended so, with the Bulldogs on top 37-25. Sylvania Burnham came next where the Bull- dogs lost a very discouraging game 8-6 by a safety. Traveling to Swanton trying to add another victory to their season, the Bulldogs showed what they had, and defeated the Swanton Bulldogs 21-13. Next came the final game of the season, the only home game, and perhaps the Great Northern Conference. The Bulldogs put up a very impressive showing but the Eagles proved to be a little too strong. The final score was T2-6.
