THE BOARD APPLAUDS WERNER BURREL HEINEMAN MC CASLIN KELLY PHILBIN Once again the schools of America are celebrating harvest time: Commencements. In our lives there are no endings except at new beginnings. Graduates will find the world full of Work, but rather slack on Hire. He who starts work without waiiting to be hired, will be pretty hard to stop. And he will not lose, for the law of life pays for anything that is done-if it is done first. Every generation testifies to that. We talk of choosing a vocation, but often the vocation chooses us. You may be destined for some sphere of work that is yet to swim into your ken. But waiting for it is not getting ready for it. You must do what you can, keep learning all you can, buckle into any decent thing that offers . . and keep doing something, and then at some turn of the most unpromising hour, there will come an inner click and you and your work will be together. Be courageous and remain true to the best traditions of American public education. The Board of Education continues to have an interest in your welfare and will applaud your every forward step. ROSSFORD BOARD OF EDUCATION Henry Werner, President page eight
