THE UNANIMOUS DECLARATION of the Semor Class of 1956 When 1n the course of school events II becomes necessary for the Semor Class to dissolve the educatlonal bonds whldx have connected II to the other classes and to assume the dunes of cttlzenshlp for whxch thelr school lxfe has prepared them, a decent respect to the opxmon of the other classes requtres that they should transcr1be thxs lustory leadlng up to thelr graduauon We the Semor Class of 1956 entered the halls of Ross School 1n the fall of 1952 feehng a b1t apprehensxve but eager to begm our htgher educatton Our class elected Frank Sp1vey Pres1dent Don Wttte V1ce Pres1dent Carol Stander Secretary and Dorothy DeLong, Treasurer to govern us durtng our fxrst sesston of school As our second sesslon of 50 members convened we elected Lenrue Stamper Pres1dent Frank Sptvey Vtoe Pres1dent Tom Burns Secretary and Carol Tozzer as Treasurer We had many athletes on the varlous teams and one cheerleader yelltng them on to vtctory As ,Tumor statesmen we began our thlrd sesslon wtth 53 members by electtng Lenme Stamp er Pres1dent Carol Stander V1ce Pres1dent Jan1oeKnaus Secretary and Bob Day as Treasurer Bestdes our athletes s1x .Tumors were lnducted 1nto the Honor SOCICIY We thrtlled to our fxrst touch of glamour our J un1or and Semor Prom ent1tled My Blue Heaven Our other acuvmes were our class play Papa was a Preacher a dance The Shamrock l-lop bake sales and the sale of basketball penc1ls The recetvmg of our class rmgs was also a wonderful event Takmg our honored places as Semor Statesmen wlth 53 members we chose for our govern mg body Lenme Stamper Pres1dent Don Wmtte V1ce Pres1dent Margte Burns Secretary and Bob Day Treasurer Sonya Shelly was crowned queen of the Homecom1ng Dance Marllyn Scott Wtnter Whtrl and Judy Htngsbergen May Queen Our Semor play The Perfect ld1ot was a huge success Carol Stander was chosen edttor of the Ross Rays wh1le Bob Day and Ronme Willlams were chosen co edltors of the Rossoman Our many actxvttxes mcluded a ducken supper bake sales magaztne sale a paper dnve a trtp to Ftsher Body Champlon Paper and Flber Company court and of course our much longed for Semor Class Trtp Our Semor year was also marked by the trag1c death of ,T 1m Cameron Through all four years of h1gh school we had representatlves tn varxous clubs and organ 1zat1ons Now that we are looktng forward to our graduauon, we wlsh to the class of 57 a lot of good luck when they take thetr places as Semor Statesmen 1 1 l 1 1 - 1 1 1 ' Q 1 I 1 1 1 I 1 - : I : - 1 ' - 1 1 1 ' I 1 I . 1 . . . .
