Some predicted Sterling to win. Some predicted Lee; however, the surprisingly low- keyed emotion of Lee Week carried the cross-town rivals to a 7-7 tie in The Game. We dominated Dobie last week! was heard in the halls the Monday of Lee Week, in- stead of the usual fervor like, Were gunna kill Lee! The win over Dobie overshadowed the upcoming Lee Game spirit. There was less spirit than in other years. I think everyone was burnt out, commented Gene Craig. The spirit did pick up gradually as the week progress- ed. It crescendoed at the pep rally and later at The Game. Jana Alpha, freshman, com- mented on her first Lee Week saying, It was fun, but I ex- pected more. I didn't really get into it until Friday. During the week, different modes were used to generate spirit. Each day was a different dress-up day, such as Tuesday's Cool Down the Ganders! where everyone was encouraged to wear sunglasses. The halls were decorated by the different classes to the theme of The Year 2082. An- nihilate the Ganders! There was less spirit, but it was still fun. We went to McDonalds and sang chants against Lee. We could have won the spirit stick at McDonalds! boasted Kim Ramsey, senior cheerleader. l t was fun, but I expected more.
