This year they chuckled ll1C1'l'ily at the merry strains of LiT0ll1l11y'-- and sat tense and breathless through thc all-absorbing 'LNight of ,lRllllll1'y' 16tl1. The success of these plays was due to the untiring elforts of Mr. Bone and Miss Roberts, the conscientious practicing of the cast, and the labors of the stage hands, costume designers, and business staff. TOMMY Cust-Zermun, Kuntz, Conner, Spayd, Stuckey, Swaiclner, Lucas, Goebel, Worman, Le-Grand, Hardy, Kridler, Siegenthaler, Ballard, Berlekamp, Horn. Timid Tommy takes tempting tokens to the Thurbers. Tobacco tantalizes Mr. Thurber. Tough Taffy takes Mrs. Thurber's teeth to town. Tuttle tries to tell Tommy that to take tender Marie, to try thrusting tokens to tempt. Tommy tries to tease the Thurbers to throw Tommy through the threshold. Terrible, terrific Tommy then takes tender, timid Marie to the tOW11 'ctyerf' thus tying the two together. Thus the tiny tots-Juniors treated the town to T'ommy. Coach McClintock started his first season as head coach of football with the aid of nine letterxncn who were left from the scrappy 1936 team. Using these men as a nucleus, he built a team which was to finish the season with an excellent record. Until the Toledo Scott game the Little Giants conquered every foe, but the Scotts proved to be the downfall of the Purple and White. Even though the Elyria score board showed a score of 12-7 in favor of that team, many fans declared it was the best played game of the season. We met Sandusky and again failed to chalk up a win. At the end of the 1937 Varsity Football Season the records told a story which clearly pointed out the good work done by the team-seven wins and three losses. Fremont was defeated in the first meet by one point but in the next two meets the team was victorious. In the meet preceding the district, the teams were tied. The Purple and White battling Eve, piloted by their new coach, Eddie Gahel, swept through a tough schedule to win ten and ,lose five games, in- cluding two victories over our beloved enemy, Sandusky.
