Capture Young Ideas Headed by a novice editor and as¬ sociate editor, the Tiger Rag Staff of 1969-70 began the year determined to produce the best school newspa¬ pers Rosman High had ever read. To readily capture student interest, it was decided to add new features along with an index for easy location of these additions. A column called ‘Tetters to the Editor” gave every stu¬ dent a voice in school affairs. “Scene Scope,” which reviewed current T.V. programs, movies, and books, cap¬ tured much attention. Many events pertaining to individuals and all less important school events were re¬ ported in ‘The Happenings.” Learn¬ ing the views of the student body on current concerns was accomplished by an opinion poll. Of course, the regu¬ lar features such as “Football, Basket¬ ball, and Cheerleader Spotlight,” Honor Rolls, Club News and Hit Pa¬ rade s, were retained. The staff found time from its busy schedule for relaxation on several occasions. Parties were enjoyed at Christmas, Easter and other times. Everyone fully enjoyed working on the Tiger Rag. Editing has its funny moments. Mr. Howell assists with typing and pubhshing. 13
