SHIRLEY MEECE A cordial smile, a kindly nature, a soft, low voice, Shirley with her nice ways is sure to succeed. LAVERNE SMITH MOORE Already a housewife . . . She has an incomparable personality and is lots of fun to be with. She races across the bask- etball court with lightening speed and almost never fails to make her points. GERALENE MURPHY Shrieks of laughter even if no joke has been told, always a smile, a truer friend cannot be found. CLEAMON ,OWEN Shy, silent type, always blushing. Speaks when spoken to, but interested in what others have to say. Jfflw SENIORS mfg. FREDA OWEN Bubbling over with things to say to everybody and usually in a teasing way. Will laugh at anybody's jokes. JAMES OWEN A friendly fellow and a real ioker, if silence is golden, he'll remain poor. Does- n't think, but talks. In all probability he'll be President in1999! MARGARET OWEN Sophisticated, serious but still fun lov- ing. She has a strong determination and says what she thinks in a definite way. EVERETTE PATTERSON Our hats are off to Everette, the 'Pretty Boy' of our class. Says so little, but friend- ly to all. He just has a way with women and is sure to succeed.

L EVELYN LEE A senior beauty, short and thin with that model look. Poised and charming and never a hair out of place. JULIA LOWE Bashful, enthusiaslic, sincere in what- ever she does, smiles and meets every opposition. SHELBY MASTERS Where there's mischief she's behind it . . . never worries . . . it will happen any- way . . . when she's off to Iceland we won- der who will entertain the people. mg f JAKIE MATHIS Known for his tall tales . . . loves to race any four wheel vehicle. The army's got him and he'll probably end up being a five-star general! SENIORS LINDA ANN McCALL We remember her as kind and sweet. a beautiful voice, music is her ioy, so neat and attractive. She's a Mrs., yet her name remains the same! KENNETH McCOY Ken, President of our class, one of the big wheels, ambitious, in every activity and always a perfect gentleman. DORA McKlNNEY A tireless worker, silent, dependable and efficient, accomplishing everything she starts. WALTER McKlNNEY Gets along with everybody, a talented artist and a good amateur boxer. He's willing to do his share.

DOROTHY WHITMIRE Says so little, yet says so much, always neat . . . quiet for a while then suddenly bursts into laughter . . , She does ever- thing so exact, it's always right. GUYMA WHITMIRE A girl with big ambitions, and will achieve what she wants in life. She loves to sing, can make a ioke out of anything and is forever teasing someone. JOHN ALLEN WHITMIRE Anything but quiet, never against a good time . . . always looking for excite- ment . . . never takes life seriously . . . will be serving some time with Uncle Sam after graduation! SENIORS THELMA PATTERSON A little figure, a pretty face, with a mischievious smile. A popular girl with both charm and sparkle, that's Thelma! JOHN PAXTON The worla is full of lots of things and he can do them all, including playing the piano . . . handling the Orange and Black so efficiently, taking part in every activity . . . its up to you to figure him out. ROBERTA POWELL Never a bad deed or an unkind word, honest, sincere, would do anything for anyone she could . . . has cz likeable per- sonality and a friendly manner, that's our 'Rootiel' RUBY SNIPES Petite, neat and very cute . . . Has so many friends there's no time for loneliness, she particularily likes to sing the Alma Mater and is never guilty of playing hookey. 1- lam
