You, our students, leave Roslindale High School to study in higher institutions, to work, to marry, etc., but you go with the dedication, I trust, that throughout your lives you will do all in your power that right will prevail. Your education will reach far beyond this formal system. You will continue to learn and grow in and out of schools, in every possible circumstance and at every stage of your life. Your education imposes on you the duty to give back to your commu- nity and to your country generous service a hundred-fold, for the rights and advantages which are yours today because you are an American, educated by America to take your part in a free society. The many talents that you have must not be buried, but must be used and developed. How? By patient, sustained effort throughout life. Why? That the world may be better because you have lived in it. Every good wish for highest success! Helen M. Moran Headmaster 4 C55 w liz Q V A ff N Y H fX5Uf'X ki Ri? f X gl KK? X I xy A--. VX FACULTY ' x 'N X X....,f l FACULTY mg! x,, l ! ELECTIONS ' TMMQWHJ 23217 FH ll PRE Senior elections were the highlights of our junior year. For the First time in Rossie's history the offices were to be held by all females. This proved to be very successful since they went on to make I974 the best year for Roslindale High. 81 OVER THE YEARS As you look back to your first few days of insecurity at Roslindale High, doesn't it seem rather strange that all of a sudden, here you are in your senior year ready to graduate and enter that big world that awaits you as an adult? But no doubt you remember your first day at school, being seated in the assembly hall waiting for your name to be called and your homeroom to be assigned. And who could forget the Pep Rally at which we were greeted by the cheerleaders and introduced to the football players? Sophomore year was also the year our hockey team went undefeated. Aside from Miss Moran something else new was added to our school. We were to take final exams in all our subjects. Yes, final exams, much to the displeasure of many who oouldn't remember what had gone on a week before, let alone the beginning of the year. After finals were over, everyone more or less retired from studying. It was at this time that we received our new tables and chairs. Knowing that we had completed sophomore year, we retreated to the summer which would bring us up to ourjunior year. We were recognized as juniors from the moment we directed soph- omores in the wrong direction until we proudly flashed our high school rings as a symbol of our status. During our junior year, many of us were participants in the Flexible Campus Program, that is, we were allowed to leave the school to take advantage of various courses and opportunities to apprentice. In spring, everyone became Joe Politician as it was time for the elections of our senior officers. After consid- eration and careful voting, they were elected. The close of our junior year introduced us to the first function of our senior year, as we sponsored a car wash for the benefit of the class. Sports, Spirit, and Seniors. Maybe it was senior year that made everything come together and happen. The girls formed a football team with the assistance of a few of the boys. Meanwhile, they attended the boys' games to pick up a few pointers or perhaps a few boys while vivaciously cheering them on. School spirit was all around as we saw a great majority of the school wearing maroon and gold hats or a couple of the girls singing Hey Tigersl' with all their might. As we walked into school in Halloween of senior year, we felt as though we walked through a time barrier. We were taken back ten years as we saw Raggedy Andy strolling down the hall followed by Betty Lou bobbing along in her saddle shoes, ponytail high on her head.
