7a '7fze 61644 of 1955 When you read this message in this, your Year Book, there will be but a few days left before we shall say farewell to you, the members of the nine- teenth graduation class of Roslindale High School. In the past few years no doulbt you have dwelt on the future. You have given thought to the success or failure that may 'be in store for you in your chosen field of endeavor. Graduation from high school forcefully compels you to realize that a most importan-t phase of your life has been completed. Other and more vital steps must be taken which will insure progress toward life's goals as determined by you. Directly in proportion to how faithfully you have carried out your high school obligations, 'both inside and outside of school, you are prepared for the tasks which lie 'before you. Ahead of each of you is a goal, the attainment of which will require you to bend your every effort. There is a place in life -for 'each of you if you will but seek it. Do not expect to reach your goals without effort and sacrifice. I recently read these lines, Of course we should never settle for a goal lower than our abilities permit. We all have the righ-t and even the duty to aspire to be something better than we are. Even if we never become so good as we should like to be, it is the breath of life to keep on trying. As Robert Browning sang: I Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, Or what's a 'heaven for? Farewell, then, to each of you as you take your various paths in the journey of life toward the attainment of your goals. In saying farewell, may we also pray that each of you will fare well and that a 'beneficent God will accompany you in your journeys, leading you eventually to your earthly goals and finally to Him, your Eternal End.
