SENIOR COUNCIL lt is an honor to be elected a member ol' the Senior Council, but the honor carries with it a good deal ol' work. Not the least ol' the tasks in- volved is that ol' rising early enough to get to the earlybird meetings in ltoom IT. Furthermore, collectors l'or the Bureau ol' Internal ltevenue don't malte themselves any more unpopular than members ol' the Senior Council when they battle to collect class dues and IVPUI' Hook subscriptions. 'l'hey I'ound time also to arrange and manage our very successful Senior Prom, our Class Day ae- liyities, and our Graduation. To all the l'aithl'ul councillors and alternates, to our officers, and to our faculty sponsors, Miss Dorothea Kelley and Miss ltosemary lieilly, we, the members of the Class ol' W5 lt, are grateful for a job well done. KEY CLUB The lxey Club has been functioning smoothly throughout the year. perl'orming services to the school and community with a spirit ol' neighbor- liness and elliciency. The club meets Friday mornings to plan projects and discuss what part it must play in school affairs. This year Key Club members have assisted in the sale and distri- bution ol' savings stamps, have acted as solicitors for the Heart Fund collection. and have repre- sented lioslindale at the ltlassachusetts Confer- ence ol' Key Clubs and at an anti-juvenile delin- quency rally early in the year. On the lighter side, they sponsored a successful dance on the night of NNashington's Birthday. Anthony McAlear is the club president, with Leonard Kelly vice-presi- dent. George May secretary, and Freeman Shep- herd treasurer. William Quinn and Herbert Saltrison are members of the class board. . THE ROSLYN CHAPTER NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The Roslyn Chapter was organized in Ros- lindale High School in 1947. Its purpose is that ol' the National Honor Society: to encourage and to recognize high standards of scholarship, serv- ice, leadership, and character. Students meeting these requirements are elected each year by a Faculty Council from the senior andjunior classes. The Chapter holds monthly meetings, gives a re- ception to the new members and a farewell tea to the seniors, conducts fund-raising activities in order to contribute to charities and to provide a fliltltl scholarship yearly for one of its members. lt serves the school in various capacities: pro- viding a calendar secretary, ushering at school functions, conducting the Honor Roll Assemblies I'or each class, and sponsoring the Roslyn Play.
