Pipitone, Crockett. and the lady in question were at the top of the ladder. The three were left hanging on the window ledge until Mahler ol the Master Mind. who gained fame by his solution of the R. ll. Murder Clase. arrived on the scene. The blaze was put out by Miss Anne Richards who argued against it. Mahler. who scaled the building in three stories. rescued all concern:-fl including Pipitone Crockett, Miss D'Amelio, Miss Hazel Hamilton. Mr. Robert Rowans. and Miss Richards. Mr. Rowan was overcome with excitement. but was quickly revived by a milk shake. Morrison Returns .After leaving town for several days to avoid the Creat Camble Finance Company fPresident, Mr. Richard Camblel which recently collapsed. Clifford Morrison is now back in society. New Position for Mr. Quaglicri Dario Qnaglieri. who. in his high school days was looked upon as a rare phenomenon -an eager Latin student- is now composing mottoes in Latin for breakfast cereal companies. His latest position has been given him by the makers of Ciffords Cranulated Goodies. a new cereal. XVe wish him luck. and hope no one translates the mottoes. Crawford Laanclzed at Hagelstein Shipyard Quincy Mass., June 5 - A new destroyer was launched today at Hagelstein Shipyard. It was named in honor of Ralph Crawford, the U. S. Navy's Sergeant York of the Second VVorld YVar. Crawford, a Cuuner's Mate 2nd Class, served on the cruiser Boston. com- manded by Captain -Ioltiu' joe Mac-Neil. The appearance of a squadron of Japanese dive bombers provoked Crawford to the use of such colorful language that Chaplain's Assistant Donald Campbell hastily rushed up from below decks. Campbell, however. was so struck by what he saw that he completely forgot his original purpose. W'hen the dive bombers swooped close to the ship, Crawford. at his anti- aircraft gun. gave them such a withering look that. in sheer panic. the entire squadron dived into the seaf' Campbell later stated.
