0115155 isfnrg After four years of fun, friendships and avid studying, the class of 63 is prepared to begin the long walk of of life away from the shelter of Rosholt High School. We began our active four years with an enrollment of 41. Though we lost seven students, Frank Glodowski, Maynard Goretski, Albert Kellogg, Barbara Kotolski, Dave Stoltz, Ferdinand Wedde and Leonard Wilkowski, during the years, our enrollment remained the same because seven students joined us, Janice Damask, Paul Giese, Jimmy Konkol, Jim Palbrach, Elsie Retzke, LeRoy Sliwicki and Ronnie Studzinski. As freshmen we elected: Maxine Pochinski, Presidents Mark Stoltenberg, Vice-Presidentg Christine Rombalski, Secretaryg and Alice Garski, Treasurer of our class. We placed Lorraine Omernik and Don Aanrud in their chairs in the Student Council, which they maintained through re-election all four years. Mrs. Rosholt and Mr. Nonhof were our class advisors that year. We chose Brenda Firkus as our candidate for Carnival Queen. She was also chosen to represent our class as a cheerleader, a position she retained for three years. Humor bubbled like a mountain spring from our class. We injected laughter into situations and saved the day. As sophomores we elected the following to manage us: Christine Rombalski, President: Arnie Filtz, Vice Presidentg Brenda Firkus, Secretaryg and Mark Stoltenberg, Treasurer. Our class advisors were Mrs. Rosholt and Mr. Hartoonian. We selected Lorraine Omernik as our candidate for Carnival Queeng and, inspired by Mr. Hartoonian, chose Pineapple Princess as the theme for our float. As class we accepted challenges and worked fervently toward achievement. Our junior year proved to be more difficult and more eventful. We voted for and installed the following officers: Diane Schuttenberg, Presidentg Delphine Kuklinski, Vice Presidentg Maxine Pochinski, Secretaryg and Gerald Acken, Treasurer. Mrs. Wieczorek and Mr. Oestreich advised us. Diane Schuttenberg, perched in a gold crown, rode on the junior float as our candidate for Carnival Queen that year. We worked hard under the direction of Mr. Heidt and produced a comedy called The Groom Said No . The most amusing act took place after the play when we treated ourselves to dinner at the Hot Fish Shop and innocently ate up all our profits from the play. Our class expressed their interest in speech each year by participation in the Forensic contests. That year we felt fortunate and proud when Christine Rombalski received a starred A at the league contest in Public Address and when Brenda went to state reading prose. Carol Jean Schuttenberg was honored when chosen by the faculty to attend Badger Girls' State. Donnie Aanrud and Gerald Acken were chosen to attend Badger Boys' State and accepted the honor as graciously as Carol did. The crowinng glory of this year was the coronation of Jim Konkol and Christine Rombalski as king and queen of the 1962 prom. The two reigned majestically over the crowded gym. Our theme Moon River created the mood and Dick Rodgers and his band projected it. So ended our third step toward our diplomas. The fourth and last step was the shortest one of all. That year we were under the leadership of Christine Rombalski, Presidentg Gerald Acken, Vice-Presidentg Bernice Cisewski, Secretaryg and Jimmy Konkol, Treasurer. That year Diane Schuttenberg joined our veterans, Lorraine Omernik and Don Aanrud, on the Student Council. Lorraine presided as President of the organization, Diane as Secretary, and Donnie as Treasurer. Mr. Hanna advised our class. With bold expectations we elected Barbara Liebe to run for Carnival Queen. Our perception was good! Barbara enhanced the throne in true regal style as she was crowned Queen of the 1962 Carnival. Lorraine Omernik was elected a cheerleader that year and cheered our team with zeal. Each of our four years we contributed ample baseball players, basketball players, runners, and wrestlers. There were tears when these happy years came to an end, but we perceived the world of wonder and challenge that lay before us.
