Enrollment had decreased to thirty- one. Three new transfer students included David Rasmussen, Dolores Wierzba, and George Wierzba. Our big moment was in October when we initiated the Freshmen of 1953, Class officers for that year were: President . . . . . . . . . Bette Bratz Vice-President . . . . . . . . . . . Our class rings arrived shortly before Christmas, and we were very pleased and proud of them. Our class play, The Zoozah, was a howling success. The Prom date was April 22--the theme song was Isle of Capri. The Community Hall was decorated with palm trees, painted murals, and an island for our throne. Ronald Dulak and Carol Slagoski reigned as King and Queen. Music was furnished by Cliff Hoene. Officers that year were: President .... . . . Phyllis Colrud Vice-President . . . . LASS PRO IIECY On a warm ,T une evening, in the year of 1966, a carload of old classmates, graduates of '56, roared their way into a favorite stamping ground, better known as Johnny's Garden-fnow owned by George Wierzba, a former faithful patron. Ronnie Dulak was giving our refreshments He's on vacation from Milwaukee where he is a designer in a famous girdle factory. With him was Phyllis Woyak, his best model. On a table in the center of the room we saw Miss Swivel Hips, formerly known as Carol Slagoski, who was demonstrating the new dance routine that she picked up in Hawaii. Accompany- ing her was Ralph Gilbert, her manager, who likes to get in the act. Dolores t Wierzba just returned from location in Africa where she starred in her latest movie, Congo Bathing Beauties. She said she saw Florian Yenter swinging from tree to tree like Tarzan, keeping just a swing ahead of all his female admirers. Mary Zabrowski couldn't come because she's too busy curling Gorgeous George's hair. She now specializes in waving wrestlers hair. Leroy Wrycza happily told us that he took over J ack Webb's job on Dragnet when he retired. Oh yes, and Jack's latest wife too. The former Gertrude Bunczak is busy working in the photography studio run by her husband Stevie, so she could not attend. Geraldine Wrycza is happily married to Jerome, and to prove it, she brought all their kids along. Phyllis Colrud just couldn't stay away from home so she came back to be Music Director at Rosholt High. She also has a husband and four children to care for during her spare time. Her kids and Geraldine's had a wonderful time playing together during the reunion. Virginia Pezewski is now engaged to Aly Khan's father, the Aga Khan, since his wife died. She always said she'd marry a rich old guy. Maynard Richter is now a dance instructor at Arthur Murray's. He managed to leave his job for a few days so that he could teach all of us a new dance step to the Rock and Roll Waltz. Rose Dobbe is here from Chicago. She 'arrived two days ago, and she mentioned that we should all stop in and see her famous night club, The Kit Kat. Bernadine Yenter sent a telegram saying she could not attend the reunion, but that we should all have a good time for her. She is now in Germany, where her husband, Danny is a twenty-year man. .T oan Essex is now a top executive at the Waldorf Astoria. She is very well-known as the personal secretary to the President, Waldorf A. Storia. Dolores Domaszek is personnel manager for Rock Hudson. He accompanied her as far as Chicago on his flight East. Seems she can't say enough about him. Everyone got free tickets to his latest movie, thanks to Dolores. Arlene Stanislawski says she is a nurse for Doctor Jonas Salk. While she was present she tried to vaccinate everyone against polio. In the corner we found Enid Zakrzewski examining a mouse hole with her spy glass. She is a Private Eye for Lloyds of London. Helping her was Bette Bratz who is an Ambassador to Russia --who also stopped W. W. III by flirting with the Premier. Beverly Catozzi just dropped in for a minute. She's a professional gadabout now and she couldn't leave her work. Jerry Urban called everyone outside to seehis new invention, an atomic motor in a car which he also designed. He started this car in his senior year during Chemistry classes. It is operated by brain waves, therefore, none of us could try it out. Edwin Ostrowski flew down in his new private supersonic jet. He just made his third million raising pigeons and rabbits for Central Park. Adeline Wilkowski said she had some of her paintings hung at a famous gallery in Paris. It seems she's running competition for Rembrandt. Carol Kurszewski now owns Monte Carlo Cassino where Mike Cieslewicz spends most of his time and money shaking dice. Carol closed the cassino for one night so they both managed to attend the retmion. The evening was a success after the arrival of Mr. Hanna, our senior class advisor, who staged an act entitled Hairless Joe. At 4 a.m. everyone left the party singing Show Me the Way to Go Home. 14
