 Say, Klemm, have you seen the latest edition of the Roseville Herald Tribune? Why no Mike. Is there anything in it about the new missile factory here in Roseville? Nothing much, but a new column started today in the paper. What is it called? Guys, Gals, and Gossip, written by the greatest literary genius of the twenty- first century, Tohn Swingle. Do you happen to have your paper with you ? “Why, yes. Then let's read it. Last night, your roving reporter spent the night gathering candid information for my first column. First I went to the Boom Boom Room of the Spearmint Lounge, owned by that millionaire and business tycoon, Diamond Bill Crabtree. Rumor has it that he made his million the hard way, in a grocery store. .Back in the Boom Boom Room, I greatly enjoyed the music of Charles Spires and his Live Wires. Next, we heard a few numbers by the nightclub singer, Lois Head. Rumor has it that Charlie and Lois have been touring the night spots together. Watch my column for further developments on these two. Next, the audience was intrigued by the exotic dancing of Ginny Snell and Nancy Young. The girls certainly danced up a storm. Infact, a riot started, but Tohn Eliot Ness Dawson and his Touchables arrived in the nick of time. At this point, your daring reporter made a quick exit out the back window. I glanced back once, and saw Wayne Savage and Harry Caton, the bouncers, slugging it out with the police. Making good my escape, and the night being young, I hailed a passing cab for the Bird's Nest , the local college kid's hangout, owned and operated by Ronnie Tweetie Bird. To my surprise, the cab driver was none other than Marilyn Wickham, the terror of Roseville's public streets. Just before we reached our destination, we were forced off the road by a speeding fire truck, driven by Chief Carl Kane and his trusty smoke eater, Toe Cummings. I never learned if those trusty guardians of life and home made it to the fire, for as they rounded the comer, we heard a sickening crash.

I, Paul Bryan, will to Mr. Campbell a pair of roller skates so that he can get up and down the steps a little faster. I, Eleanor Renick, will to Dot Dusenberry and Carolyn Erwin one pencil for each for the next two years, to do their lessons in study hall. I, Rick Wilson, will Bob Bargar a leg brace to keep his leg straight. I, Carole Adams, will to Deedra Sherrick a pair of shorts so she won't split them out at practice this summer. I, Ray Valentine, will my ability to go through twelve years of school without receiving one paddling to anyone that wants it. I John Swingle, will my locker to anyone who will clean it out. I, Mark Hendrickson, will to Mr. Dantonio a box of Tootsie Roll Pops in order to make his class of '63 as great as his geography class of ‘62 I, Carl Kane, will to Susie Ford and Mr. Campbell a box of bird seed to keep their friendship alive for one more year. We, Jim Tignor and Ronald Bird, will to Donald Rusnak and Roger Roberts something to talk to and to keep them busy during study halls. I, John Dawson, will to my sister Judy a new alarm clock so she won't be late for school every morning. I, Marilyn Wickham , will to Janice McHenry a package of throat drops so she can talk the next day after a home game. I, Paul Lovingshimer, will to my brother Carl Lovingshimer a pair of my shoes so he can follow in my foot steps. We,Ronnie Maines and Joe Cummings, will to the students of Roseville High a future student council to get a few of the privileges they want. I, Kristine Kildow, knowing my brother has a desperate need for transportation and that Drivers Ed. may have use for it, will to Eric and Mr. Paulette my trusty Chevy, Bruhilia Daisy, for them to share equally. I, Nancy Young, will to Sandy Sharkey a roll of adhesive tape to keep her quiet in study halls so she will get more done than she does in 8th period study hall. I, Lynda Pennington, will to Mr. Paulette a life time subscription to Mad Magazine. I, Keith Pletcher, will Mr. Mentis something to build up his boys in Phys. Ed. class. We, Jim Savage and Jim Mclnemey, will to Tom McGee a big toe so he will get better grades in school. I, Arlene Bowden, will my ability to go through high school to anyone that wants it. I, Jim Strickler, will to Mr. Mentis something to keep the Phys. Ed. boys laughing. I, Jerry Miller, will Mr. Paulette a bottle of nerve pills for Drivers Ed. class. I, Farrell Anderson, will my front seat on the bus to Frank Ihinger so he can listen to the radio. I, Mike Skinner, will Mr. Waterhouse a fly swatter so he will not damage the text books anymore. I, Ginny Snell, will my column Snoopin' Sam to anyone who is fortunate enough to be snoopy, like me. I, Judy Young, will my majorette uniform to whomever wants it. I, Earl Bowen, will to Mr. Paulette a permanent stick of chewing gum so he won't have to get a new stick every day in government class. I, Klemm Ungemach, will to Mike Inman something to keep him warm on cold nights. I, Carol Fitzpatrick, will my books to anyone who needs them. I, Becky Thompson, will to Darlene Koehlor something to help get her to the games next year so she can see Jon play.  Upon reaching my destination, I paid the cabbie, and entered The Bird Nest. The smoke was so dense that I accidently bumped into a waitress, who to my suprise turned out to be Carole Fitzpatrick. She steered me to a table where she gave me a menu and took my order for a pizza. The juke box was pounding out Faded Love and Wilted Roses sung by America's Sweetheart, Betty Still. Two young college kids were dancing cheek to cheek in the center of the dance floor. They were Becky Thompson and Rick Wilson, both of whom are seniors at Billingsley University, the local college. Mostof you may not know it, but the college was named for Mrs. Bonnie Billingsley, the wealthy society lady. Over in a smoke filled comer sat two fads of the pad, Ronnie Maines and Janet Wolfe. As most of you know, fads of the pad are beatniks. I noticed my pizza was being prepared by the National Pizza Baking Champion, Mark Pepperoni Hendrickson. After eating my pizza and paying my bill, I strolled out into the cool night air. Walking uptown I noticed a poster advertising a prize fight at the Arena featuring Terry Killer Miller and Paul Leave'm Dyin Bryan. Suddenly the still night air was ripp- ed by the sound of sirens. Thinking a story might be hrewing, your daring reporter follow- ed the ambulances to the hospital. The nurse, Tim Savage, informed me that the Mayor of Roseville, Carol Adams, was merely coming in for her weekly check up. Getting back to my original mission of touring the night spots,I proceeded tc Roseville High School. The alumni Banquet was being held that night. Inside I metsome of the distinguished alumnae. They were Farrell Anderson,outstanding piccolo player for the Roseville Philharmonic, Kristine Kildow, president of the Roseville Dill Pickle Plant, who was elected National Businesswoman of the Year for perfecting the perfect pickle, and Ray Valentine, president of the Lonely Hearts Club, a community effort to stamp our all elig- ible bachelors. Over in one corner, I noticed that valiant astronaut Keith Pietcher being photographed by Paul Lovinqshimer as Keith's wife, Shiela Pietcher, lovingly plants a kiss on his cheek. Over in one comer, I spied Tames Mclnerney, the famous nuero-surgeon, better known to his associates as Mac the Knife. Just before I left, in walked Mr. Muscles of 1970, Roger Murgatroyd, world's strongest man. I noticed by the watch that it was time for the local girls' softball team, the Bowden Bullies coached by the All-American girl softball player, Arlene Bowden. The
