FRNIE SASAKI ROBFRT SOUSA JEANNE FMPEY SENIVR CLASS i-IISTV R' Our four years are finally over, and each and every senior has been known to say, Yes, these were the happiest years of my life. These years have gone by so fast that, as we look back, we remember and think Iongingly. As freshmen we went through the bewilderment of the first few days of getting acquainted with new people and adapting ourselves to the unfamiliar routine of high school life. The sophomores played hosts to us at the Fresh- man Reception on October 15, and, with great initiative, we made the Frosh- Tumblers dance a huge success. We went all out in the war effort by sponsoring the crutch and cane campaign for disabled soldiers. Then before we knew it we were moving up the ranks to another year. As sophomores we started the year by honoring the new frosh at the Fresh- man Reception. We started out with a leap and a bound to keep up with Mr. Arp on his annual hikes. At the end of this year we decorated the platform for the graduation and were even more anxious to become juniors. At last, as upperclassmen, we out-did ourselves in school activities. We worked as a class to sell magazine subscriptions to raise money to make our prom, Stairway to the Stars, one of the best in the history of RJ UHS. Then we were given the opportunity to write our term papers on peacetime sub- jects, a change from the emphasis on war which had prevailed for four years. Our sponsors, Mrs. Spitler and Mr. Vicente, helped us greatly to prove that we had the ability to be capable and competent Juniors. Our last year finally arrived, and we were honored at the annual Junior Prom. Following in close sequence were the Boxing Scamper, Girls' League Show, Senior Ditch Day, Senior Banquet, Baccalaureate Sunday, and now Commencement. With this we bid a fond and sad farewell to RJUHS. SENIORS WITHOUT PICTURES KENNETH BARNES, BETTE LEE CAGLEY, HARRY DANIELS. SAMMY DEMAS PHILIP KISTER, KEITH NOAKES, DONALD SCOLES, ROBERT STRAND.
