DECEMBE12 . . . Roeland Van Cavel, Dutch humorist, is pictured at lefi' in characteristic garb. He presented to the student body an interesting assembly on December 7. Peggy Davis is having trouble balancing her Christ- mas shopping, but takes it with a grin. The student body, and faculty, too, took Christmas Vacation, De- cember ZS to January 5, with wide grins. December's calendar was filled with action, the 1939-19-10 basketball season being opened. The month's games were high-lighted with the basketball game here with Gront on December 15. JANLJMQY . . . Thc end of the first semester on January 26 brought about results such as pictured. A group of seniors are shown gazing at their report cards. Some are bewil- dered and sad, while some look quite happy about the whole thing. The month of January had three important basket- ball games on its calendar: one with Placer at Auburn on January S, another at Grass Valley on January 12 and another here with Nevada City an January 26. On January 18 Dr. Wallace presented a gun exhibit and lecture at an assembly. January 19 was featured by the Boys' League Dance. FEBRUARY . . . On February 21 the Parthena and the Crop and Saddle groups sponsored the annual Reverse Dance.
