BASKETBALL CHEERLEADERS Varsity: Jolece Becraft, Sarah Raymond, Martha Bond. ' Junior-varsity: Freddie Bride, Ronnie Coons, Kenny Eaton, Robert Foltz. Seeing Double! THE NIGHT OF THE GAME 'Twas the night of the game and all through the school, Not a creature was stirring, not even Lober. The suits were all hung by the lockers with care, In hopes that game time soon would be there. The players were all catching those last minute naps, With visions of basketballs falling in their lapsg And Lober, in his Crew-Cut and Tink in the same, Had just settled down for a very tough game. f TRACK Major Meets - 1952 May 5 - Bi-County - lst place May 13 - Little Six - 4th place May 15 - Warren County - 3rd place Then out in the gym we made such a clatterg All the boys were giving out with plenty of chatter. Into our drills we flew like a flash, Running as though it were the hundred yard dash. The bright lights gleamed on the newly cleaned floor To assure us we'd not slip and later be sore. Then, us to his office Coach Lober did call. Gave us some gum and told where to tip the ball. with little old Doc, so helpful and kind, We knew we'd get encouragement if we got behind. Lober assigned the captain and had him lead us away. This is the moment we had been awaiting all day. As we left his room we heard Coach Russ declare: Now, Thrush! now, Axline! now, Jahnl and Boulware! On, Carlbergl on, Singleton! and you Brooks boys too. ,l Play a good game whatever you do, And win or lose I'll be proud of you. --Bill Singleton 1 is i I' 'W 'J 0
