Oar c5aperin ten cfent Friends: I should like to take this opportunity to commend the faculty and students of Rosepine High School who have given freely of their time and effort to make it possible for us to enjoy the many activities which are presented in this yearbook. It records people and events not merely in terms of the observable in the classroom and at recreation, but it also reveals much of the deeper meaning that high school graduation and training can have in the lives of boys and girls. The warmhearted feeling and fine professional spirit demonstrated by teachers and students in jour school is an inspiration to all of us. I realize, too, that this remarkable achievement cannot be accomplished with- out cooperation and leadership ability. ( 'ai ioun, J rincipal Rosepine, La. 706J9 Dear Friends, The purpose of a school is to promote the development of the individual for personal, social, and economic living as a participating member of a democratic society. As principal of this institution it is my desire that this school be characterized by a strong interest in education and by the belief that education should be continuously concerned with the changing needs of its people in regard to social, scientific, and economic factors that affect our region. Efforts have been made to improve and develop flexible curriculum programs giving greater recognition to the needs of the large majority of students who will not attend college. Considera- tion is also given to improve the opportunities of those who plan to enter college. May 1 extend to you—students, teachers, employers, parents, and civic organizations that make up our school community, my sincere thanks and appreciation for your cooperation in our accomplishment here at Rosepine School. May the future bring to each of you a successful and fruitful life.
