Superintendent's Message Dear Friends; May I take this opportunity to commend each of you for the splendid job that has been done in the production of this attractive year- book. It bespeaks of a high-type program and reflects many outstanding accomplishments in education characterized by everyone in your school. I hope you will use these many and varied experiences as a firm foundation upon which to build and grow, and there will be an ever- increasing pride in this school which made it possible for you to participate in so many educational activities. Your teachers, parents and associates will watch your future progress with great interest because your success will also be the suc- cess of all who have worked with you. Let me express my sincere appreciation to everyone of you for the effort that made this comprehensive, informative yearbook possi- ble. CURTIS BRADSHAW Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools Curtis Bradshaw, Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools Principal's Message MR. CALHOUN We who believe in the sacredness of the individual are convinced that effective devel- opment of human personality should be the role of education. I hope that every student in our school will never underestimate his ability for success, for you have seen proof of higher achievement on many occasions. This proof should be an inspiration for you to move forward and accept with enthusiasm the challenges, and strive diligently for the eventual improvement of which you are capable. To you who are responsible for the publication of this book, I extend my sincere con- gratulations for a job more than just well done. As the years go by, the memories recorded herein will be a source of happiness as you browse through the pages from time to time, recalling the enjoyable days spent in the Rose- pine School. As your principal, may I extend to each student, teacher, employee, parent, and civic organization that comprise our school community, my sincere thanks for an outstanding school year, and may I wish each of you the best of everything in the future. Sincerely yours. Principal Mrs. Glenda McCain School Secretary Annual WILUAM CHURCHMAN Business Manager PEGGY DEGGS Co-Editor As our high school year draws to a close, we look back upon this wonderful year as students of Rosepine High School with fond regret. It would be hard to find a more fitting example than Bobby. It is difficulty to say what he did best for he did so many things well, but maybe it was his leadership and the simple ability to like people. He “liked people and gained their love and respect in return. He is greatly missed, but he left to us a priceless gift. Many times we find ourselves in need of an example to follow. ROBERT WAYNE THOMAS gave us this. SENIORS Student Body Officers ADVISOR . . . Mrs. Gothard PRESIDENT . . . Charlsey Schuler VICE PRESIDENT . . . Charles Harvey SECRETARY . . .
