SOPHOMORES The students of the Sophomore class really swung Into the high- school swing. They participated in many of the school activities. Many of them were members of F. H. A., F.F.A., 4-H. Basketball, Spotlight Staff, Eagle Leader, Band and Chorus. Of the many pretty girls this year Gaynell James and Frances Pis- catello were selected as candidates for Most Beautiful Sophomore; Frances was elected. Candidates for Most Handsome Boy were Larry Woodhatch and M. L. Chevalier-, M. L. was chosen. Four sophomore girls were candidates for Spotlight Sweetheart of 1959. They were Carolyn Jones, Frances Piscatello, Marjorie Ann Presley, and Jeanette Stanley. Beauty and sweetness were not the only qualities the sopho- mores displayed. They had many more qualities. Candidates in election of School Favorites: Most Popular - Carolyn Woodard and Larry Woodhatch Most Likely to Succeed - Jeanette Stanley and M. L. Chevalier Best All Around - Norma Dees and Larry Thompson Friendliest - Lynell Owens and Woody Cone Shyest - June Foshee and Floyd Dunn Biggest Flirt - Jeanette Stanley and Russel McFatter Most Athletic - Charlene Pelt and Grady Stephens Wittiest - Velva Lewis and Woody Cone Sophomores invited to join the Beta Club were Carolyn Jones, Frances Piscatello, Marjorie Presley, and Jeanette Stanley. The Sophomore class sponsor is Mrs. Harris.
