Class Poems WE THE SENIORS, THINK OF THESE THINGS We the Seniors of forty-five We like to work and like to strive We ' ve worked from day to day In order that our work would pay. Perhaps, we were a little tired at the close of day, A little less anxious for you to rule our ways; A little less ready to take your scolds and blames A little less eager to gain our fames. But now that we ' re nearing the journey ' s end We the seniors give out with everlasting blends To thank you all for what you have been. By Geneva McKinley. GOODBYE ROSENWALD HIGH Goodbye dear Rosenwald high. We are leaving you with many a sigh. We are preparing to travel the road of success. Using what you have taught us best We are on this road to never fail To the sea of luxury we will sail; We shall make good of all our opportunities To free ourselves of bad communities. We are leaving here as seniors of 45. Trying to do our best. For we will continue on our strive Up the long hard road till we reach success. We are leaving thee as a friend at heart With the thought once that we ' ll never part. But upon your teaching our whole life depend. We will think of you dear Rosenwald until the end. By Newt McCravy and Ernest White.
