VALLACE , A Spring of 1972 Model Democratic Convention On April 17, 1972, the eighth grade classes of Mr. Baise held a model Democratic Convention inthe auditorium. It looked very much like an actual convention. The party platform was read, ammended by floor discussion, and then approved by voice vote. Next came the nominating speeches, each one followed by noisy demonstration in sup- port ofthe candidate. Balloting began during the fifth bell. Governor Wallace took an early lead, but at the end of balloting no candidate had sufficient majority. As sixth bell closed, the Muskie camp conceded in the interests of party unity, and the nomination went to Senator Mc- Govern. Brian Mangum .... ........... '- Seventh Grade Chorus Spring Choral Concert On May 25, 1972, the Rosemont Junior High School Chorus pre- sented the annual spring concert. The chorus performed a variety of musical pieces, including anthems, spirituals and popular songs. Piano accompianists were Mr. Marshall Ellis, guest Albert Vann and Student Charles Van Horn. Martha Rhyme was the guitarist and Mitch Frazier accompanied on the drums. Mrs. Linyear was very proud of her chorus and received a standing ovation from the parents. Mrs. Waldin, the Music Department Head, said the performance was better than some Senior High School Groups. 1' Icixaclin I . c Health Projects for 1972 . ... 1 1 is P-3 I t iii Ah., 1 W -s A .W ,Q 'pt .
