Coached by Joanna Gustaveson. s not known for having a really outstanding runner, but. good runners. The Panther girls were able to win the dual mship with their big win for the 7th time in eight years. The g meet of the season came against top ranked Mountain I tough race, the score was tied. causing the tie breaking t into effect. The team with the fastest 6th place finisher e meet. Rosemead. behind Dyanna Soto, won the meet to of the biggest upsets in memory. Running in the league am placed five runners out of the top ten finishers. BQYS CROSS COU TEAM HNISHES size The Boys Varsity cross country team ended the season w record of four wins and two losses. Coached by Jose Marq finished in 2nd place in the tough Mission Valley League col team was consistently ranked highly in both the San Gabrl CIF polls, and featured some outstanding individual runners Mascorro led the Panthers by setting three course recon season, while also finishing lst in the league finals. Veteran also broke the Rosemead course record for seniors. Others c the winning cause included Ramon Perez, Alberto Reano and Ist year runner Jesus Cipres. OLLEYBALLT VARSITY lMPRovEs Coached by Miss Barbara Robbins the Varsity Volleyball team compiled a six wins twelve loss season. The co-cap- tains of the team werelMicheIIe Lugo and Jenyne Condon who helped the team in competition supporting the players and inspiring leadership. Jen- yne Condon was also the most valu- able blocker. while Michellelugo was an inspiration to the team. The most exciting and toughest game occured against El Monte, when before the homecoming game the team played well. Having many good rallies the team played well but come up short.
