RUNNERS GO TO PLAYOFFS This year's Cross Country team did very well at Mt. Sac, placing ninth in CIF. The boys made it to CIF finals for the third time in four years. All the runners were outstanding and all did very well. One runner. Aaron Mas- corro, commented on how he did say- ing. CIF was fun. I could have had a better day, but I did my best. With a look of wistfulness in his eyes added, Next year! Girls' Cross Country also did out- standing, reaching the CIF prelimi- naries. They missed going to the finals by two points by placing fifth out of I2 teams. This year was the first time in seven years that the girls did not make it to the finals. They have been Mis- sion Valley League Champs for the last seven out of 8 years. Wednesday Guerrero stated, It was fun compet- ing for our school and I'm glad we did well! Coach Jose Marquez. grinning proudly, summed it all up by saying. The hard work of the runners paid off. ,, v CIF!

cur CHAMPS WRE TLERS SET TE M RECQRD Awesome! Power! Stamina! Desire! These are four of the words that define the Rosemead Wrestling team. Capturing the CIF 3A title at Redondo Beach High School. Rosemead set a new record for scoring. Altogether eight of the Rosemead wrestlers qualified to go on to the Masters meet which would qualify them for the State meet. ln a great team performance. the wrestlers put it together on the most im- portant day to shatter the team scoring record for the 3A division. Competing against schools much larger in enrollment Rosemead had its best performance of the year. Marty Kouyoumtjian said The beginning of the year was tough. but the end of the season we pulled it off by winning CIF .
