One of the most exciting games was the first game of the season against Bosco Tech. The team won I3 to 4 which gave the team more confidence. The season record at this time was I win 2 losses I tie. .IV BASEBALL WINS FI E OUT OF FIRST SIX I think we have the potential of being towards the top of the league standings and maybe even taking the championship. commented J,V. player Mario Ramos. With such enthusi- asm the J.V. Baseball started this season with a record of 5 wins and I loss. The loss to Arroyo was their first of the season, but that didn't seem to dampen their spirits. The Panthers went on to defeat the Mountain View by a score of 7 to 2. Some of the outstanding players were Pitcher Mike Martinez. centerfielder Da- vid Duarte, and shortstop Andy Sanchez. B DMI TO CO TE TIO FDR LE GUE TITLE Varsity Badminton Coach Adrian Rodrigues remarked that this year's team is strong and has a very good chance of winning the league title. With a present league record of three wins and one loss, they may very well do so. Led by two outstanding singles play- ers, .lenyne Condon and Yiuman Tam, the varsity team finished preleague competition with a winning record. One of their most exciting games occurred against Alhambra High School. The two teams played closely, causing a tie to result in the overall score until the very last match. In this, the mixed doubles match, Rosemead prevailed and clinched the victory. The Junior Varsity Badminton team started the season very successfully, winning seven games and losing only one. The team hopes to continue to do well in league competition. In an exciting game against Mountain View High School, the score was seven to nine with Rosemead behind. The Panther's three mixed doubles teams proceeded to win their matches and, thus, gained the overall victory for Rosemead. Some of the outstanding individuals included Joe Chantharath, Amy Nguyen, Raquel Villanueva, and Sin Cheng. I. Tina Ma concentrates on hitting the bird. 2. Louis hits a winner. 3.
