GIRLS BASKETB LL TE M FINISHE FOURTH Coached by Miss Kimber Sullivan, the girls Varsity Bas- ketball team had a competitive year compiling a IO win, I2 loss season record. In a tough league they recorded a five win and a five loss record for a fourth place finish with an almost all underclass team. Coach Sullivan com- mented: They were a very exciting team this year. The girls were competitive in every game and produced the best record of the past five years. Undoubtedly, the most exciting game of the year was the overtime win over defending league champs Mark Keppel. Another close game was against Bassett, where after a close game the outcome was determined in the last five seconds. Some of the most outstanding individuals for the team were: Wendy Wagner, Tracy Koe, and Trishell Young. Members of the Girls Varsity Basketball team were: Top Row: Miss Kimber Sullivan. FRDSH TE M PLAC S THIRD Mr. Mark Krajnik and Mr. Mike Harding coached this year's frosh basketball team. The team had a great season as they placed third in the Mission Valley League stand- ings. The team's overall record was 8 wins and IO losses. While in league, they had a 6 win and 4 loss record. The captains of the team were Quyen Thai and Lam Duong. Some outstanding players included both the team captains and Jeremy Lopez on defense and Cuong Tham on offense. The 4-point loss to Arroyo was one of their toughest games as the team played well in a losing cause. Their most exciting game was against Duarte. Tied with a minute to go, the Panthers were able to defeat Duarte with an excit- ing finish. I. Miguel Flores shows his skill. 2. lt came from outer space , . . 3. Looks like a foul to me. The overall record was five wins and five losses in league, which was a big improve- ment over their preseason record. The most exciting game of the season was against Duarte. where Rosemead won in the final seconds, 4I to 40. Some of the most outstanding individuals were Center Martha Hernandez and Guard Nancy Rodriguez. The most improved player of the team was Lea Basil.
