The team was able to defeat Campbell for their only win of the season, but they were receiving experience and playing time needed for a team. Experience and depth were the main problems in this year's team. Injuries to key players was another disaster that hit the team. Even though the record didn't turn out too well for the Cardinals, they received much necessary experience for future years. at si practice drills. Underclassmen Meet the Challenge FIRST FIVE: ,Tim Kon, Ken Parr, Randy Mohr, Dan Heuertz, Jeff Konen Coach Gerald I-Iartma After losing eight graduating lettermen and two more lettermen, Norb and Lynn by injuries, and Rodney, a promising prospect, also by football injuries, the coming season looked mighty chal- lenging for R.1-1.5. Although the Cardinals were not a winning team, they did manage two victories. The first was over Campbell 46-43, and the second over Bladen in the District Tournament, 47-4O.All regulars were underclassmen except for Ken Parr. This experience gained should be of great help in the coming year. Leading scorers were Randy Mohr 248, Jeff Konen with 183, and Ken Parr with 169. Randy also was the leading rebounder with 17 per game. Although the Cardinals were not awinning team, we should be proud of the sportsmanship and deter- mination of the team members during 1969-70 basketball season. At right Ken puts out 110'7f effort!
