244 ' Early in the fall Rocket No 1954 blasted off tnto space rn search of hrgher educatron and future success The rocket contarnlng twenty space mrnded passengers was to make only three stops to let off the arr sick passengers and take on new adventurers Twrla Hanson was seated at the controls and Jerome Heuertz was busy checkrng the fares for the frrst lap of the trrp Connre Jahn and George Bourg were busy plannrnga charter for after all we had to have some government to hve by when we landed on thrs unknown planet Trme seemed to srmply fly by and we soon found ourselves makrng our frrststop on Mars rn 1955 Here Jeanette Mangers caught the frrstrocket back to earth and made her landrng rn Holstern when Rocket 1954resumed tts flrght Connre Jahn was seated at the controls, wrth Carol Sttvers as her gal Friday qwell she was her gal all seven days of the week as far as that goes.1 Jerome Heuertz was agarn lookrng after the frnancral setup and wrltlng out the reports Our newly elected board of drrectors consrstrng of Curtrs Zubrod and Loreler Aman were busy amendrng the charter we traveled on and soon landed on the Mrlky way Here Carol Strvers resrgned as assrstant prlot and parachuted back to Madrson Delbert DeVoogd decrded that he had had enough education to last him a lrfe ume and so returned L0 Roseland The last passenger to depart was Delores Rerber who returned to Blue Hrll The rocket also gatned four more adventurers Sally Kapke Mary Ellrott Allen Schuker and Bob Schrfferns Srnce we had taken on new passengers we thought rt was also trme to change ptlots So when the rocket agarn blasted off rn 1956 rt was under the capable gurdance of Curtts Zubrod fBetter known as Zubby Q Twrla Hanson was elected as hrs assrstant Verena Hemberger was now rs charge of Our fmancralmatters wrth Jerome Heuertz and Comte Jahn makrng new rules Dale Bourgand lroreler Amanreported back to our home town paper the Rambler We found thrs a more expensrve flrght than the prevrous ones for we had to throw a party for our fellow planet rnhabr tants The hands of trme ticked away and soon found usmakrng our last stop tn 1957 on the planetcalled Mercury Here the frnal change was made rn the passenger lrst as we lost Bob Schlfferns We also held our last electrons at thrs trme wrth Jerome Heuertz berng elected as our prlot for destrnatron Dale Bourg was elected as hrs able assrstant Mary Ellrott was put rn charge of the busrness matters and Johnny Rrcker got the Job of reportrng our many adventures to the earth people Twrla Hanson and Curtrs Zubrod started makrng the final amendments to our charter We found thrs to be the most expensrve leg of our Journey for we stopped for prctures publrshed a book of our adventures and last but not least took a long look around rn outer space Zu pzgofiecy As I was strollrng along the beach near my home tn Florrda old memorres of my classmates of 1958 from Rose land Hrgh School seemed to come to my mtnd l went to my home and got out the annual of 1958 Lookrng at the varrous prctures brought memorres of my hrgh school days and created rn me a desrre to frnd out what my former class mates were now dorng srnce our graduatron ten years before I boarded a Jet plane and flew back to my old home town of Roseland Nebraska to begrn my search for fellow classmates Whrle flytng over a farm I notrced a partrally bald man ln rnvestrgatrng the matter further l found out thrs man was one of my old classmates CURTIS ZUBROD He told me that he had rnvented a new krnd of corn whrch only grows two feet tall to make rt easrer to rrrrgate From hrm I also learned that JEROME HEUERTZ rs now a famous basketball star and recently won the trtle of He man of the Year That evenrng I thought I would lrke to see a movte so I went to the premrere of The Klu Klux Klan From Mars The leader ofthe Klu Klux Klan was someone l knew It was STANLEY AMAN He rs now engaged to a famous actress who played the leadrng lady rn hrs last prcture Stan rnformed me that hrs srster IDRELEI AMAN rs now marrted and lrvrng tn Afrrca wrth her famrly She frnds that her chrldren are learnrng the language faster than she rs From here a speedy flrght took me to New York where VERENA HEMBERGER rs secretary of the Unrted Natrons and rs en gaged to Prlme Mrnrster Socko ofAustralra After hearrng that GEORGE BOURG was presrdentof the NationalPea Prckers Club of Amerrca rn Tennessee lrmmedrately went over to see hrm He rs dorng qurte well for himself and tells me he could now support some lonely woman George told me that hrs cousrn DALE BOURG rs now a famous comedran who rs famous for hrs drsappeartng swrmmrng pools I then went to Loveland Colorado where l looked up SALLY KAPKE and MARY ELLIOTT now Mrs Ronald Frazrer and Mrs Robert Arent They own and operate the R 81 R Ranch but Sally and Mary strll frnd trme to spend wrth thetr adorable sets of twrn boys who look just lrke therr fathers.
