This gala affair was begun with Jim Chaney welcoming all the guests of the Junior Class. Brad Bumgardner responded very warmly on behalf of the seniors. After a delicious dinner of roast sirloin and trimmings, Mary Hopkins and Tammy Edington read the Senior Prophecy and Senior Will. At last, the moment everyone awaited! The crowning of the Queen! And for the very first time, the King! Jim Chaney crowned Betty Couch 1977 Jr.-Sr. Prom Queen. Janet Mace had the pleasure to crown Brad Bumgardner our very first Prom King. Summer Wine provided music for the evening’s dancing. The theme song, danced by the newly crowned royalty, took the en- tire group into a romantic evening, enjoyed by all who attended. By the witching hour of 12:00 — the formal evening was over, but the fun was just beginning. A post-prom was held at Brazilian Lanes until 4:00 a.m. Here there was something for everyone to enjoy. After breakfast, another change of clothes, and perhaps 40 winks, many headed north to Turkey Run State Park for a pic- nic, a game of softball, or to just relax in the sun. 103
