G ee Club Learning to love and enjoy good music were the primary goals of the glee club. The group sang in assemblies, for the Christmas program, attended the Eastern Kansas league music festival, and sang Christmas carols in the hall at Christmas time. They were also an important part of baccalaureate services, the commencement services, and gave the spring concert. The glee club is under the direction of Miss Mildred Fulhage, who was in her first year here, having been transfer red from Central junior high school. Junior Hi la Choru Like the glee club the junior high chor- us has had many activities during the year. Twenty-nine members are in the class and all have been very busy trying to entertain the student body with their harmonious music. Miss Mildred Fulhage was the sponsor of the organization, and Meridith Adams, an eighth grade student, was the accompa- nist. One of the members, Janet Straughn. ninth grader, sang with the choir. ' 1 Student Connell Senior High-This year, the Student Council has been under a great handicap as a result of half- day sessions, and their activities have been very limit- ed. Enough money was raised by last year's Student Council to continue the sponsoring of Edward Chrus- ciel, a war orphan, this year. Officers for the year were Steven Sanders, president, David Armentrout, vice-president, Camille Taylor, secretary, and David Rowlands, treasurer. Miss Eva Carstensen was their sponsor. Junior High-The junior high Student Coun- cil, under the leadership of Mr. Rollin Wanamaker, has had many activities this year. They have patrolled the halls, sponsored dances, and taken care of the tickets at the varsity assemblies. Gfficers for this year were Anita Elvins, president, Martha Carter, vice-president, and Carol Houser, secretary-treasurer. New this year were distinctive arm bands worn by the Council members during school hours.
