T o The orchestra of Rosedale high school, directed by Mr. William Stoskopf, has performed in a very pleasing and effi- cient way. The group, with the band, gave two concerts, played for the Christmas services, attended the Eastern Kansas League music festival, and added the finishing touches to many per- formances, including plays, PTA programs, and commencement exercises. , rohestra 2 The group has grown not only in numbers, but in the va- riety of instruments, the latter made possible with money from the Board of Education, plus an equal amount raised through the efforts of the Rosedale Orchestra and Band organization, a parents' group. Musical touches add much to many activities of the year, such as home football and basketball games, all pep assemblies, the American Royal Parade, and the Eastern Kansas League mu- sic festival. The Rosedale high school band, under the direction of Mr. William Stoskopf, played for all of these. Band With the increase of enrollment in the band class, new uni- forms were purchased year before last by the ROBO, and the specially designed outfits have added much to the band's ap- pearances. The band, like the orchestra, has had to meet in the audi- torium on the stage during fifth hours, both in the morning and afternoon sessions, and so far this year's activities have been greatly handicapped.

G ee Club Learning to love and enjoy good music were the primary goals of the glee club. The group sang in assemblies, for the Christmas program, attended the Eastern Kansas league music festival, and sang Christmas carols in the hall at Christmas time. They were also an important part of baccalaureate services, the commencement services, and gave the spring concert. The glee club is under the direction of Miss Mildred Fulhage, who was in her first year here, having been transfer red from Central junior high school. Junior Hi la Choru Like the glee club the junior high chor- us has had many activities during the year. Twenty-nine members are in the class and all have been very busy trying to entertain the student body with their harmonious music. Miss Mildred Fulhage was the sponsor of the organization, and Meridith Adams, an eighth grade student, was the accompa- nist. One of the members, Janet Straughn. ninth grader, sang with the choir. S
