Pictured above are the five boys who usually nude up the starting lineup on the basketball team last season. To the right of center is Keith Hanna, a forward. He scored 135 points, second only to Meyer. Hanna's run and jump shot usually meant a goal for Hosedale. He had a twin brother, Kenneth, also on the first team. The two of them should form the backbone of next year's team. On the far left is LeRoy Drake, the other forward. Long passes to him when he was alone under the basket resulted in his scoring several goals. He was a junior and only 5'-4U tall. In the center is Gilbert Meyer, who played center. He was the team's leading scorer with 168 points. Meyer was a senior, and although rather short for a center, he had a left-handed hook shot that was deadly. Tb the left of Meyer is Robert Enderle. He was a senior and played guard. Enderle was the best long shot on the team and was third highest scorer with 91 points. On the extreme right is lewis Gilhaus who was the other guard. He is a junior. His trickiness enabled him to slip past his guard and score. The second team, coached by William Sipes, won five and lost twelve last season. It was a scrappy bunch of boys and always full of fight, whether ahead or behind. The team's leading scorer was Virgil Pennington with 91 points. Charles Vining was a close second with 88 points.
