P a in he The Student Governing Body of Rosedale is the Student Council which is composed of one representative of each home room and the class presidents. The Council exists for the better- ment of the school and the promotion of school spirit. During the year the group discusses and attempts to solve various student problems. This year the Council sent representatives to Topeka and Olathe to attend conferences of student council groups in this district. The ' entire Council was invited to Topeka to attend a session of the state legislature. Their major project during the year was the framing of a constitution Also they keep a record of grades each six weeks and awarded the scholar ship banners to the home rooms having highest average scholarship The Council was headed for the first semester by Albert Yendes as presi dent Don Coyne as vice president and Billie Hacku as Secretary treasurer The group was sponsored again this year by Miss Eva Carstensen who has d rected the group for the past four years FIRST ROW fleft to rightj Billy Hopkins Harry Graves Lawrence Turnbaugh Donna Blinn Ralph Hardman Patty O Neal Roberta Brown Annabelle White SECOND ROW George Rush Margaret Stewart Dolores Vexster, Mary Cedarland Joyce Buck Mildred Hayes Hale Parker, Wayne Poe Jack Lane Bob Burgess Donald Stewart THIRD ROW Barbara Morlan Mary Gilles, Virginia Hunt, Albert Yandes jimmy Hiller james Harriss Don Coyne ' 1 1 ' 1 ' ' . . 1, -- - D I ' , , . . Acting as a stop-over between home and class, the home room provides that last minute of carefree relaxation before plunging into the days work. In the home room the sale of tickets, the collection of dues, and various other class activities are conducted. Not only is the home room the scene of the morn- ing announcements and opening exercises, but also provides time for the boys to crack jokes and to give out with their opinions for sports, girls, and 'polltics.' For the girls home room is the time to rave about the current 'men' in their lives, their latest date, and just time enough to put the last curl in place before first hour. To that institution of life in Rosedale, the home room, we dedicate the following pages of this book in the hope that through seeing the faces of your fellow students, you may call to mind many happy or hilarious incidents.
