E Bottom row, L to R Albert Yendes, Alvin Zeff, Curtis Terflln er, Gilbert Neyer, Lewis Gilhaus, Neal Hervey second row Dean Anderson president first semesterh, John Meier, Peggy Shay, Ruth Becker, Hattie Allos, Sharlyne Naschold, Bernard Brock, Claudene Gibson, third row Ed Minter, Patricia Kennedy, Mary Gilles, Hildegard Scherer, Jane Bentley, Joyce Long, Billy Fincke fourth row Max Sorden, Iola Hayes, John Pronst, ariorie Van Goethem, Kenneth Powell, Doris Gaiardoni, Marie Cain The student council, composed of one representative from each home room and the class presi dents is a student governing body of our school For the first time, this organization is under the sponsorship of Miss Eva Carsten sen As a club, whose purpose is the betterment of the school,th1s body contributes various features to the school They handle the scholarship records each sixth week and also award the scholar ship banners Every third week throughout the school years, sen lor high members have taken charge of lunch rooms The coun ell was responsible for the Christmas tree, which decorated the east hall one week prior to Christmas For betterment of the school the plan followed this year was the instituting of seven general committees Each club member served on one committee and successful attainments were made One of the undertakings of that was held to create interest in Rosedale's code Each month students submitted writings under the heading of one sentence of the code and throughout the year eight prizes of one dollar each were awarded the winners Another project, headed by the council, was the presentation oi three Jr high talent shows, the sophomores sponsoring the seventh grade, the Juniors the eighth grade, and the seniors the freshmen This help ed the students in the lower grades to become better acquaint d Aldlng this club for school improvement, as first semester officers were Dean Anderson,pres ident, Neal Hervey, Vice pres ident, and Max Sorden, secretary treasurer l l A 3 I ? 1 D 0 'F 2 ' Y - O - 0 - , the council was the essay contest . .
