16 Fall Vocational Construction Under Way Dnee major changes greeted RHS students returning to classes in September. The first and possibly most obvious change was construc- tion under way on the vocational building. This building was expected to be completed and ready for use before September 1974. The energy crisis brought another change, with lower temperatures in classrooms (sixty-eight degrees), and lighting at athletic activities was used extensively only during the actual events instead of for warm-up and after game purposes. Completion of parking spaces for students was the final change. Since the activity lot was used by the con- struction company, students found themselves parking on the Chatham lot across the street from the school. The less distinguished the class, the larger its enrollment. For example, the sophomore class boasted 543 stu- dents; the juniors, 482; and the sen- iors, 468. In the noise and enthusiasm department at assemblies, seniors were first, then the juniors and soph- omores.
