Helping hands! “Who me?” The Rosebud-Lott Var- sity basketball team for the 1982-83 season found itself in the same situation as the football team. With only two players back from last year's district champion team, the Cougars struggl- ed throughout the year, posting a 9 and 15 season a record and a 3 and 7 district record. Although the Cougars lost more games than they won, they never gave up and many of their games were lost in the last few minutes of the game. Losing only three seniors, Dennis Wester- % man’ Darrell Whitfield. and David Hailey from this year's team, the Cougars will have high hopes next year of being a district contender. Hot Shots The 1983 Junior Varsity Cougars had a very disappointing season. Playing with a team of eight sophomores, the young Coogs just could not keep up with the larger and more experienced teams of the district. Although the young freshmen won one game, they never got discouraged and always played their best till the final seconds had ticked off the clock. Their never give up attitude and hard work will come in handy as they prepare themselves as future varsity Cougars. 113 The boy's varsity tennis team was only four members strong during the 1983 season; yet they represented R-L well at area and district meets. Under the leadership of the new tennis coach. Coach Ken Barnett, they gave their all in every match and never gave up. Their determination and hard work was admired by all.
