Text from Pages 1 - 152 of the 1976 volume:

2 3 Of Expression 5 We’re not fighters; we’re lovers. 6 Of Competition 7 The Cougar A proud and courageous creature Representing our school's strength and culture, A name that causes our rivals to stir. For none surpasses the name- Cougar. A symbol of our relentless spirit Ready to show our most deserving merit. Ready to pounce on any occasion, Rising to the right of any decision. Inspired by this creature of its own destiny, Our student body stands together in unity. Throughout the years, we'll display our loyalty And come out ahead-the cat of victory! -A1 Slaughter Our special thanks go to Mr. David Raboy and the CEN-TEX Zoo for making possible the pictures of the cougars on these and other pages. 8 mm. Of Christmas CHRISTMAS CAROL God bless the master of this house, The mistress also, And all the little children. That round the table go, And all your kin and kinsmen That dwell both far and near; I wish you a Merry Christmas And a Happy New Year, expression: indication of feeling, spirit, and character. The Spirit OJ Friendship Friendship Friendship is giving with no thought of receiving. It's being sincere and in sincerity believing. It's someone to talk to and someone talking to you. It's telling and hearing what is true. It's refusing to believe that bad exists. It’s knowing when not around. you are missed. It's trying to help any way you can even if it's only to understand. It’s willingness to learn how to give more. It’s getting it done without keeping score. It's trusting in faith each and every day. It's knowing you rate in a very special way. 15 Dedication The 1975-76 edition of Cougar Tales is dedicated to the school itself- its students, faculty, and staff, everybody who makes its day-to-day operation possible. Although the pictures show the plant only, it is the spirit of the school that we salute. The spirit that will keep the memory of this place alive for us even though we may travel far away in both time and place. Set! Spike! The game of life is a thrill a minute. Some days we win, and some days we lose. That’s the way the ball bounces. But even though we can’t predict the score . . . It helps to have friendly teammates. This poem describes our team because we worked together. Togetherness is a big part of win- ning in team sports. A coach couldn't ask for a better group of girls to work with. And even though we did not win district, we were winners. The Cougars almost-GOT IT TOGETHER.
