Wwzaw Four years ago on a bright September morning, a group of 19 wide eyed, bewildered, fresh- men started up the steps of Rosebud High. After enrolling in high school, we met with our ad- visor, Mr. Fenner Lytle, and elected officers for the year, Janet Holmes was chosen President, with Sonja Dawson as Vice President. Other officers were: Secretary, Carol Bateyg and Ma1'Y Lange, Reporter. Besides the officers, the class consisted of: Norma Artz, Geneva Beyl, Tom Carranco, Cheryl Coate, Vivian Coon, Delsie Draper, Socorro Covarrubias, Belen Gandara, Gary Harken, Sarah Junge, Donna Popp, Russell Penner, Fred Tetschner, Thad Turner, and Hazel Wilson, Much to our dismay, the first thing the sophomores did was initiate us, but that night they helped the situation by giving us a party. Our classmate, Janet Holmes, was elected Car- nival Queen, During o11r Sophomore year, our class, under the sponsorship of Charles Mitchell, elected Mary Lange, Presidentg Sonja Dawson, Vice Presidentg Socorro Covarrubias, Secretary-Treasurerg and Carol Batey as Reporter, We lost two members that year, Delsie Draper and Sarah lunge, but Charles Maslowski enrolled so that kept our number at 18, That year we initiated the Fresh- men and gave them a party, Our candidate for Carnival Queen was Mary Lange, who was runner- up, In our Junior Year, with Mr, Mitchell as sponsor again, we elected as officers: President, Tom Carranco,Vice President, Fred Tetschnerg Thad Turner, Secretary -Treasurer, and Russell Penner, Reporter. We did a lot to raise money for the coming prom and Banquet, We sold pop and candy at the football, basketball and baseball games, and also gave several dances. We en- tertained the Seniors with a beautiful Prom, with Trees as our theme, We gave them a banquet also, held at the Met Cafe in Miles City. Our play was Hillbilly Weddin', which was a huge success and a riot. That year we lost several classmates: Donna Popp, Geneva Beyl, Socorro Covarrubias, Charles Maslowski, Cheryl Coate, and Hazel Wilson. Only one new student was added, Bill Poe, Once more our class gained royalty, with Carol Batey as Carnival Queen, and Sonja Dawson as Homecoming Queen, As we entered the halls of R. H. S. in our Senior year there were thirteen of us, but through- out the year we lost three boys: Gary Harken, Fred Tetschner, and Bill Poe. This left three boys and seven girls, and Mr. Schmidt was our new sponsor. Officers elected were as follows: Presi- dent, Sonja Dawsong Vice President, Janet Holmes, Secretary, Carol Batey, Treasurer, Norma Artz, and Reporter, Mary Lange. We put out the paper the first semester. The class play was Drums of Death, which was a mystery, It too was a grand success. We had an extended skip day, in which we traveled to Great Falls, Helena, and Bozeman, Foul- of the Class attended High School Week at Bozeman, April 28-30, The Juniors put on a prom for us May 7, with Evening in Paris as the theme, The class colors chosen were shades of blue, and the flower was the red rose. The motto was It takes a few clouds to make a beautiful sunset, The Junior- Senior banquet was held at the Met Cafe in Miles City on May 15, as was Baecal Holmes was elected Homecoming Queen, and she was also Prom Queen, Sonja Dawson was run- ner-up for Carnival Queen, We ended four wonderful years at R. H. S, ' h cises on May 19, We leave with regrets and hopes of our future, aureate, janet wit Commencement exer-
